The round bears the hallmark of the Swiss foundry "ESSAYEUR FONDEUR", along with the weight and purity.
The obverse design on the round ingot is a representation of Mecca, the holiest city in the religion of Islam. Mecca is the birthplace of Muhammad and a site of Muhammad's first revelation of the Quran.
The reverse design is a representation of Medina, the second holiest city in Islam after Mecca and the burial place of Prophet Muhammad. On the bottom we have the inscriptions "1 oz. Au 999.9" confirming the weight, the metal and the fineness of the metal, followed by the three Swiss hallmarks: Founder/Assayer - Engraver – and the Swiss Bullion Corp Responsibility Mark. Finally, the year of mintage: 2013 in the lunar Islamic calendar.
